I Remember I Forgot

It’s my first time here. I’ve come straight from the railway station to the spot where we’ve agreed to meet. My first glance of the place. I stand alone in an empty parking lot. Water Lift is now opposite the sea, where once the Pier was opposite the Amusement Park. This will soon disappear without me knowing about it. The tarmaced plot with a white grid on it, the empty parking lot, speaks of open possibilities and decisions of how to reorder the past and the future. Only afterwards will those ordinary moments claim remembrance. I may see a person sending a bottle with a blank message in it. And a person who sees the bottle but is unable to reach it. Then a person who finds the bottle, breaks it, sees the message, only to realise that the message has faded with time.
